How to easily repair the Windows XP registry

Are you getting registry errors or problems?  Intimidating as it seems, it isn't the end of the world.  Its not even a big problem anymore.  It used to mean taking your computer to the shop and leaving it for days but now you can easily repair the Windows XP registry at home without any computer experience or registry know-how.  Simply download a registry repair software program, and let its automated features repair your registry for you.  My choice for repair of any registry whether it is Windows XP, Vista, 2000, ME or 98 is RegCure registry cleaner, because it fixes more than registry errors, has more features than any other registry utilities and is both simple and powerful.

Why does my registry need repair?

Hard to say exactly but registry errors are very common. A lot of registry errors occur from the installation and removal of other software.  The registry is just a file on your computer, but it acts as a repository for many system settings.  Software and hardware drivers write to it

all the time.  They frequently become really large and full of information that isn't relevant anymore like references to software, hardware and drivers that have been updated or removed.  You can just imagine the carnage that can occur from having one large file being written to by most software packages on your computer.  To make matters worse, some programs don't follow registry standards either.  Over a really short period of time the registry can become bloated, fragmented and full of irrelevant information that can render you machine performance so slow as to be unbearable, and cause registry errors which require repair.

How can I DIY my registry repair?

This is easier than sending email.  I've written out the step-by-step procedure you need to get your Windows XP registry repaired and optimized quickly.  Its so easy you can probably wing it yourself because it is no different than installing and running any other program, but here it is just in case.

  • Download a good registry fix utility.  My preference is RegCure registry repair. It is simply the best of the registry utilities we trialled.
  • After downloading double click to install the programs, or if using Internet Explorer just select "Run" when downloading.
  • Run the program from the link it creates on your desktop Iif you didn't select run above).
  • Tell it to Scan your registry with the big "Scan Now" button.  This will only take a minute or less.  Go ahead and do it now, and then come back to this step.
  • Did it find errors?  Mine sure did - 188!  Let it automatically fix the registry problems that it found.
  • Enjoy an error free registry!

How easy was that?  I recommend running the program frequently, maybe once a week because the registry can get out of control quickly and your performance will suffer.  It is much easier and cheaper than taking it to the shop too!  Considering it is a repair that will need to be repeated frequently unless you run a Windows XP registry repair utility regularly like RegCure registry error repair, then learning this simple procedure will pay for itself over and over and over.  Besides, being able to regularly optimize the registry is something you can only do yourself, which will lead to consistent fast performance and system stability, and that's priceless.
